Public transportation
Lisbon can be travelled by public transportation that includes bus, subway and train that is operated by Carris Metropolitana (www.navegante.pt, for bus, subway and train), Metro de Lisboa (www.metrolisboa.pt/en, only for subway) and Comboios de Portugal-CP (www.cp.pt, only for train). The best way to use Portuguese public transportation is by using the zapping/navegante card which is a prepaid card that can be used on various operators.
Do not hesitate to consult the websites of all the operates to plan your journey, since all have network maps, timetables and frequency.
Besides public transportation, Uber and Bolt are also available.
How does the zapping/navegante work and where to buy?
The zapping/navegante costs 0.50 euros, that can be topped (3€, 5€, 10€, 15€, 20€, 25€, 30€, 35€ and 40€). The card can be bought in ticket vending machines (TVM) and ticket offices, at any subway station and at the airport. The cost of each journey is deducted from your card balance, according to the fares and conditions of each operator. Each zapping journey refers to one operator only. Every time you change transport operators, an additional fare is deducted from your card, according to the conditions of the operator.

How to get to the conference venue from the Airport?
The best way to get to the venue from the Lisbon airport is by subway following the Red line from the airport station to Saldanha station (Red line direction: Aeroporto > São Sebastião) and change to the Yellow line from Saldanha station to Cidade Universitária station (Yellow line direction: Rato > Odivelas or Campo Grande).
Cidade universitária station is just next to the Reitoria da Universidade de Lisboa.
