Welcome
The V International APOMIXIS 2025 Conference in Montpellier, France, from 16 to 19 September 2025, will cover most aspects of plant reproductive biology devoted to the elucidation and the use of apomixis in plant breeding and agriculture. With this fifth International Conference on Apomixis, we hope to initiate a cycle of biannual events starting with the last conference in Rosario, Argentina, in December 2023.
The conference will include two Opening Plenary lectures, 8 sessions featuring presentations by invited scientists and selected abstracts, and two forums devoted to a wide range of topics giving an overview of the latest results and trends in the field, as follows:
- Opening Plenary lecture
by Amanda GRUSZ - Univ. Minesota Duluth, USA - Opening Plenary lecture
by Pr. Venkatesan SUNDARESAN - UC Davis, USA - SESSION 1 - Evolution of apomixis
- SESSION 2 - (Epi)genomics of apomixis
- SESSION 3 - Reproductive developmental plasticity
- SESSION 4 - Apomeiosis I
- SESSION 5 - Apomeiosis II
- SESSION 6 - Triggering embryogenesis
- FORUM 1 - Missing tools to engineer apomixis?
- FORUM 2 - Apomixis, a plant breeding innovation?
- SESSION 7 - Seed development
- SESSION 8 - Asexual reproduction in animals
Please note that, due to the limited capacity of our venue, the Mercure Hotel Montpellier Centre Comédie, a maximum of 120 participants can register.
Early-career researchers are encouraged to attend and submit either an oral or a poster presentation of their work.
The organisers are committed to implementing measures to make the conference environmentally more sustainable and more inclusive.
