Notice for Speakers

DSI User Group Meeting - November 20 & 21, 2024

Meeting Format

The meeting generally attracts between 100-140 active DSI users coming in equal shares from industry and academic research. All attendees work in preclinical research with in-vivo models. The meeting covers scientific questions with cardiovascular, respiratory, CNS and metabolic content, as well as surgery, animal welfare and data analysis aspects. The meeting is meant to connect DSI users with each other with the aim to share ideas and to learn from each other.

Presentation outline

Presentation should be 15 minutes + 5 minutes for questions/discussions. This is to allow for the maximum number of presentations from various users over the 2 days of the meeting.

Because attendees are coming from diverse backgrounds (researchers, technicians, data analysts, industry/academia, etc.) who may not be familiar with a given research area, your presentation should cover:

• High level scientific background (starting with some basics about your disease model).
• Which DSI tools were used for the work being presented. Pictures of your lab, setup, surgical approach, etc. are always very much appreciated by the audience.
• If applicable, any challenge you had in implementing/using the systems and how it was solved. This is to emulate further discussion and benefit the community.
• What is the outcome of your work, if applicable what are further future areas of research.
• If applicable, mention if you are looking for potential collaborative partners, you might find one within the audience!

• Short biography: approx. 150 words max.
• Abstract: approx. 200-500 words (title not included).
